Show offers FREE Admission for Job Seekers & Partners with Lanier Technical College to Spotlight Education & Careers in Boating Industry

The 2019 Progressive® Insurance Atlanta Boat Show has teamed up with Lanier Technical College to host the Show’s first-ever Career Day, on Friday, Jan. 11, 2019. This day isfor prospective students and job seekers interested in careers in Georgia’s rapidly growing boating industry, which has nearly 18,000 employees across the state and boat sales up 5% since June 2018.
 
Anyone searching for a career in the boating industry gets a FREE ticket to the Atlanta Boat Show on Jan. 11 when they register in advance HERE.
 
“There are abundant job opportunities in Georgia, from marine technicians to manufacturing, sales and much more,” said Show Manager Kevin Murphy. “Our first Career Day will showcase careers in our industry and give students a chance to meet with exhibitors and other experts who will share their knowledge as well as current job opportunities.”
 
WHO: 
Leaders from the Atlanta Boat Show, Lanier Technical College (which recently opened its new $150 million Hall County Campus) and dozens of local companies exhibiting at the Show will meet with students and job seekers interested in boating careers to discuss educational needs, interview tips, skills needed, plus participants will also get a chance to apply and/or visit with decision makers at the Show who have current job openings.

Please bring your resume or job materials with you onsite and check in at Will Call to receive your Career Day materials. Prior to the Show opening at 11 a.m., students will have the opportunity to learn from industry experts and educators during a panel and Q&A session. Once the Show officially opens at 11 a.m., students and interested attendees can participate in a Career Fair throughout the day, by visiting booths of participating exhibitors to meet with industry professionals and learn about career opportunities. Those interested will also be able to upload their resumes to the Marine Industry Career Network where they can expand their job search and enhance their opportunities of finding a new role in the recreational boating industry.
